House projects!

This is how the house looked when we bought it. It was an ugly yellow house...(wait it is still yellow..we hope a hail storm comes through so we can change the siding!)

This summer we added plants, purple shutters and a purple door(thanks to Sherwin Williams for putting my favorite color into a spray can!) new screen door, new light fixtures and new edging!  and we lost a piece of siding above the garage(the lowest big has been $450 for that one piece, not doing that, Just waiting till Steve can rent the machine to get the job done for about $50..
Steve and his dad build us a new gate. About 2 weeks after we moved in the wind blew ours over...and we also moved the gate up about 15feet. Giving us more room to store our junk:-)

We stared the prep work in the back yard. If the ground doesn't freeze to early on us we are hoping to get the pipe down for the sprinkler system.
So far in the back yard we have planted trees, redone the deck, leveled the ground  and took all the rock that surrounded the back yard out.
And next spring we will have grass!

Hopefully buying a fixer up'er will be worth it in the end when we turn around and sell it!

The Denver Zoo!

Ever since we bought our house, it feels like we have NO time for anything other than home improvements! Poor Khloe didn't get to do much this summer, kinda made us feel bad! So on Steve's day off we packed up and made the 1.5 hour drive to Denver to go to the ZOO! We had so much fun! Khloe LOVES every animal that was put on this earth! She blows kisses, hugs every dog that comes in her way(or she chases) she is just a true animal lover! Nothing scares her, not even scary HUGE dogs barking! So needless to say she probably enjoyed it the most

We were lucky enough to see the baby leopard! We stayed and watched baby and mommy play together and then mommy gave her baby a bath...Khloe would say "dog" and OOOOOOO she thought it was so cool!(ok.. it was REALLY cool!)

Holy cow if you haven't seen the new addition for the elephants at the zoo..you probably should, because it was sooo cool! The zoo brought in 2 new elephants(4 total) that can roam all around(EVEN OVER A BRIDGE that you can walk under!) in the middle of the zoo! They put in a yummy restaurant and had lots of information about elephants.
We walked up right in time for the smallest elephant to take a bath and get treats for showing us her teeth! this was by far the best part of the day.  Daddy was happy Khloe just wanted her bottle!

Khloe found the carrousel(she rode one at the fair and HATED it) but she wanted to give it another try and she LOVED it! The only fit thrown all day was getting off of it! We had plans to ride before we left again but she fell asleep...
She wouldn't look at the camera but trust me she was laughing like crazy!
The gorillas were a lot of fun for her because  there was a step she could get on and off by herself and run all around the area!
This still makes me laugh.. we spent a TON of time at the drains...and her diaper would not stay on so she had plumber butt whenever she bent over...i thought it was cute:-)

By the end of the day she zonked out...luckily she made it 3 hours  and the entire zoo before she fell asleep!!
If any one wants to come see us over in Wyoming we would LOVE to go again!

before and afters of fireplace!

This was the fire place when we moved in....UGLY!! It was a fake marble that just made our fireplace an eye sore in room/ I felt like id rather not have a fire place and have more room in the corner! But now....

 ITS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
We still need to seal it and do a bit of finishing work but I LOVE it! I can not wait to put stockings up this Christmas(first Christmas at our own house!)  and have the tree light up next to it!
My husband laughs at me but it has always been my dream to have a cute fireplace just for the holidays:-)
and because he is so awesome him and his dad did it for me!!
