more food!

Even though we kinda have eaten out a lot this month(ok a LOT!, we have had lots to celebrate and honestly been REALLY busy) but i have tried a couple new recipes, first is leek soup. This soup was super easy, saute, cook and then blend it all together. I liked this soup because it wasn't necessary to have the veggies chopped nicely. 

 have you tried chicken base? its like bullion but 10000000000x better! it also comes in beef base. I get it at sams club for $5 and this tub has lasted me a year! I promise your soups will be much more flavorful with this stuff!

 after this picture i broke my blender...such a sad day... but this soup was AMAZING! Khloe and I ate it for lunch! I don't recommend making this soup though..or anything with leeks in it...come to find out leeks make you fart...no joke...research leeks and farts...Steve had a rough night with us;-)

the next night we had sweet and sour chicken. I have a recipe that is pretty much the same and we LOVE it so im not sure why I tried this one...maybe because the picture on pintrest made it look sooo pretty?

 after puting 1/2 cubes of chicken in cornstarch and then eggs I fried the chicken

 poured the sauce over the cooked chicken and baked in the oven for 35minutes...

We were not fans of this meal, nor did it look like pintrest pictures... ill stick with my old sweet and sour meal...that is why there are no pictures...it was gross..

haha then there is this hat...She got it from my Grandparents last Christmas and we have recently started wearing in while on our walks. Well after the walks, she wont take it off.. she puts it back on her head and says "cheese" and does her "im so beautiful walk" it kills me...

 This picture was taken 2.5 almost 3 years ago! We had lived in rock springs for a year, I was doing hair and Steve was just starting with flying j/pilot, we had a lot of people tell us "that's just another dead end job" "why would you want to work at a gas station" blah blah blah... Well today we found out today that Steve officially has the flying j! It's a HUGE accomplishment and I'm so proud of my hard working husband! It's hard being on the other side with him gone a lot, but when he is rewarded with a top ten store it all becomes worth it:)!

My poor baby is cutting 3 molars and 3 other teeth all at the same time! She has fallen in LOVE with ice cream and otter pops! its not a great habit to let continue but a girls gotta eat! The way she deals with it is by sleeping! I have had A LOT of time on my hand the past couple of days... Steve took yesterday off and we put up some of the Christmas lights, cleaned the house for tomorrow(Thanksgiving!) and surprise surprise went shopping...With him back at work today and my only hair appointment tonight at 6 im super bored!A nice change of pace but id rather be doing SOMETHING! I started looking back at pictures from this past year. Boy. Life. Has. Changed... I have been saying this more than I ever thought I would. Khloe is growing up so fast, our little doggie Buddy has gotten fat...(khloe feeds him when i am not looking!) Many callings on my part, finally feeling like Cheyenne is our home, such a great feeling. I'm so grateful it has been a good year..unlike the one before that!

She is such a girl, I should have downloaded a picture from her hair cut yesterday...maybe next post!
Oh and my cooking has dropped off, next week we pick back up! working those over night K.I.L.L.E.D me and our eating out budget! Steve was such a good hubby and just said, where would you like to go tonight...sweet hu? (Qdoba b1g1 coupons rock!, McDonald also b1g1 free kid meal coupons..) Good thing my 4 assignments are over, I don't even want to eat out right now...to much grease...

 here is another meal! Mexican stuffed cheese shells...so amazing! these took a bit of work but totally worth the work!(ps the missing ones is what Khloe ate...)

I am 3 shifts in my 4 shift assignment and this is what I do at 3:30AM to keep me going...the last shift I had two...

 Today was a lazy day(ok my only day off in two weeks...)found this recipe on pintrest and it was GOOD! crock pot ravioli!

all I had to do was layer like a lasagna and cook on high for 4 hours!(ps i have a nicer crock-pot but this one is amazing. I hope it never dies! it actually takes 8-9 hours to cook a roast, my nice one on the lowest setting takes 3-4 hours...they turn out tough and dry!)

PS... we are starting the salon in the basement next week! AND moving my washing machine and dryer to the basement and making me a pretty laundry room and the only laundry room is going to be my HUGE pantry!! I can hardly wait!!!

cooking goal for the week!

I have been super inspired lately to try and save money by cooking...I.E. not going out to eat(not as a luxury just because i hate/stink cooking and i hate Walmart...meaning we have little to no food for weeks at a time because i don't want to go...

So my goal for the week is to cook a meal once a day! last night i tried six sisters stuff's baked fajitas..oh my gosh they were amazing! So simple took MAYBE 10 minutes to prep and only 30mins to cook!

 mix spices and oil together and pour on top of veggie/chicken mixture

 Look its not burned and it actually looks good right?

 We might have this again later in the week because it was such a HUGE hit! I would have paid $13 or $14 a PLATE at chili's for this meal!

And with Christmas right around the corner I had to start...I held back on putting out the signs that say "Merry Christmas" and im debating about taking the stockings down...maybe when the tree goes up on Thanksgiving they will make another appearance!

Im Glad I started because I thought i had SOOOO many decorations for Christmas but most everything, but the tree is out and its slim pickings! Ummm real deals shopping trip? probably, especially since I saved so much on my fajitas right?!

HALLOWEEN!

  We had an amazing Halloween this year...by "we" I mean Me and Khloe+ our close friends..Steve had to work most of the night.

 Khloe was given her tutus and she could wear them every day! She dances like a princes so I figured they could be her costumes for the day!

 This year we didn't attend our truck or treat with the ward because my best friend is on best rest and her husband was working that night and so was Steve.

 We found out that the mall did a trick or treat going from store to store, and we waited to do that! Plus it was actually on Halloween!

 Khloe had a blast! She loved loved loved going to collect her candy, she was given WAY to much!

 This is Walter and his cowboy outfit! Could he be any cuter?!

 HAHA I just love how much these two love each other...we don't ask for them to kiss, they just do it...I can already here the wedding bells!(well only if Walter grows to be SUPER tall...dad is barley 6ft.)

 We have never lived in a place that has kids who go door to door so when we got home from the mall and saw a TON of kids we were thrilled! Steve pulled in and we went with our neighbors! They were so nice to khloe, the older ones would go get the candy for khloe and put the candy in her bucket! It was so much fun! I have always HATED Halloween but im in love..

 The day after Halloween we all got up early because Walter was coming over early while his mom went to try and have her baby turned...little stinker has been breached for months and last night she flipped! Saving Mommy from ALOT of pain! But we were so happy to have Walter at our house! BTW there is no photo shopping in the sunrise picture...it was beautiful this morning!

on another note...you know how I had to quit working well my boss now has me as an emergency go to person and this month I get to work 4 times AND khloe doesn't have to go to a sitters house at all! :-)
